Alva Price

Alva Price, 95, of Spartanburg, SC, died Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Magnolia Manor of Spartanburg. Born January 7, 1927 in Live Oak, FL, he was the son of the late Albert and Lena Rebecca Harris Price and the husband of the late Evelyn Thompson Price.

A US Army and Air Force veteran, who served during The Korean War, Mr. Price was self-employed as a painter. Alva was a strong, hard-working man, who loved helping people. He had a very unselfish heart and was bigger than life itself.

Alva was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. Above all, he loved and cherished his wife, Evelyn.

Survivors include his brother, Bill Price (Shirley); his nieces, Melonie Henderson (Bill) and Sherry Lawter; and a nephew who was like a brother, The Rev. Kenneth Gaskin. Along with his parents and wife, he was predeceased by six siblings.

Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2023 in Glendale Cemetery, 3555 Clifton-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by The Rev. Kenneth Gaskin. Visitation will follow at the graveside.
