Almeth "A.B." Haggard

Almeth “A.B.” Boley Haggard, 90 of Spartanburg, SC, died Monday, January 30, 2023 at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born February 4, 1932 in Quinton, Alabama, he was the son of the late Ilo Samuel and Mildred Swann Haggard, and the husband for 49 years to the late Billie Ruth Turner Haggard, who was his childhood sweetheart.

A U.S. Army Korean War veteran, Mr. Haggard was retired from the Southern Railways, after serving 27 years.

A.B. loved to fish and loved to watch softball games.

Survivors include his daughter, Sandra Kay Eberly (husband Thomas) of Simpsonville, SC; his son, Paul Jay Haggard of Pauline, SC; grandchildren, Quinten Scott Liong of Huntsville, AL, Leon Jay Haggard of Pauline, SC; three great grandchildren; sister, Lillie Mae Skelton of Alabama; along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his sister, Katherine Hutto.

Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 6, 2023 in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by The Rev. Tommy Sparks. Visitation will follow the service.
