Alma Juanita Ward Lawter, 75, of Spartanburg, SC, died Thursday, November 27, 2014, at Self Regional Medical Center. Born September 26, 1939, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Robert Glenn Ward and Mary Ellen Brown Ward. Mrs. Lawter was a member of North Spartanburg Free Will Baptist Church. She retired from S & S Manufacturing Company after 35 years of service, enjoyed cooking, sewing, and was a wonderful caregiver. Surviving is her loving husband of 54 ½ years, Malcolm C. Lawter; sons, Robert C. Lawter (Patricia) of Chesnee, SC, and David C. Lawter (Jennifer) of Waterloo, SC; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Sarah LeMaster and Marlene Barnette. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Saturday, November 29, 2014, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, November 30, 2014, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Mitch Edge. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. The family is at the home.
