Alma Brown

Alma Sprouse Brown, 90, of Inman, SC, entered Heaven on Thursday, April 7, 2016, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born October 20, 1925, in Cherokee County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Gertrude Blanton Sprouse and widow of Hubert Paul Brown. Alma loved her Lord and family, she had a servant's heart - visiting and cooking for any family in need. She was a member of North Spartanburg Free Will Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday School teacher and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She retired from Mayfair Mills Bailey Plant with over 40 years of service. Survivors include her son, Paul Allen Brown (Nancy); grandchildren, Sharon Hall (Elvia), Rhonda Merritt (Todd), Kip Brown (Jennifer), and Sabrina Horton (Jonathan); 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and brother, E. W. Sprouse of Arcadia. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, Coley Sprouse and Howard Sprouse; sisters, Dovie Kirby, Ruby Smith, Sara Sprouse, Minnie Smith, and Mary Nell Cash. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, April 8, 2016, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 9, 2016, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, by the Rev. Sammy Sutton. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Pallbearers are Kip Brown, Freddie Splawn, Rick Chapman, Jonathan Horton, Todd Merritt, and Tracy Smith. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303. The family is at the home of her son, Allen Brown.
