Alma Brooks

Alma Jennings Brooks, 89, of 764 North Church Street, Spartanburg, died Monday, November 21, 2011, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born April 28, 1922, in Spartanburg County, she was the daughter of the late Frank Lee and Mary C. Jennings, and wife of the late Dillard Brooks. Mrs. Brooks was a member of Central United Methodist Church and formerly of Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church prior to the two churches merging. Survivors include her son, Bobby Brooks of Emerald Isle, NC; daughter, Dianne (Dennis) Brown of Spartanburg; granddaughters, Stephanie Coates of Boiling Springs and Danielle Bolling of Inman; great-grandchildren, Grace Coates, Justin and Brianna Bolling; and sister, Gladys Jennings of Spartanburg. She was predeceased by a brother, Edward Jennings. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 23, 2011, in Sunset Memorial Park, by the Rev. C. Allen Senn.
