Allen Terrell Jr.

"Papa T" Allen Terrell, Jr., 83, born August 10, 1933, of Spartanburg, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at Ashlan Village, Lyman, SC. Mr. Terrell was a native of Greenville, SC and the son of the late Allen Terrell, Sr. and Ira Byars Terrell. He was a retired engineer for John D. Hollingsworth on Wheels, Inc. and a U. S. Navy veteran. He was a loving and devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and an avid Clemson fan who by the wonderful grace of our loving and awesome God was blessed to cheer his Tigers to 2 National Championship titles in football during his lifetime. He is survived by sister, Martha McLeod (Theran) of Greenville, SC; sons, K. Lindsay Terrell (Michelle) of Roebuck, SC, Scott Terrell (Dolores) of Texas; a daughter, Katy Terrell Galloway of Myrtle Beach, SC; grandchildren, Travis Galloway, Ryan Galloway, Austin Terrell, Rachel Terrell, Landyn Terrell, Hannah Grant (Dylan), Megan Ruchala, Eric Terrell, C.J. Craig (Kyle), Eric Rodriquez; two great-grandchildren, Dyani Rodriquez and Addison Terrell. The family would like to express their deep appreciation for the love and support of special friend, Shirleen Porter, for the countless ways her love touched Papa's life and her warmth was felt by holding his hand and also, to all the caring nurses and staff at Eden Terrace, Ashlyn Village, and Hospice of the Carolinas Foothills. A memorial service will be conducted at 3:30 PM Saturday, May 20, 2017, at Mt. Calvary Presbyterian Church, 1399 Walnut Grove Road, Roebuck, SC 29376, by the Rev. Richard Thomas and the Rev. David H. Sanders, Sr..
