Mrs. Alice Dawn Taylor, 58, of Garden Grove Court, Spartanburg, died of injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Saturday, April 13, 2013. Dawn was born on September 4, 1954, in Spartanburg, to Frances Bishop Gault of Union, SC and the late Sidney J. Gault. Dawn and her husband Bill were devoted to each other from the day they met at Clemson in 1973, and were never apart. They were married at Clemson in the Alumni Center in 1974 and would have celebrated thirty-nine years on July 27th. She was a graduate of Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama. She and her husband lived all over the east coast, from Maine to Alabama, moving ten times in twenty years. A wonderful wife and mother, she and Bill shared raising their two talented children. She loved knitting and reading, and corresponded with people all over the world. In addition to her mother, survivors include her devoted husband, William "Bill" D. Taylor III; her son, William "Billy" D. Taylor IV and his wife Kimiko of Chicago, IL; daughter, Elizabeth Dawn Taylor and her husband Jay H. Becknell of Chicago, IL; and her aunt, Lucille B. Barnett of Greenville, SC. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. Rick Smith.
