Alexa Parris

Alexa Price Parris, 97, of LaFayette, GA, died Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at her son's home in Boiling Springs, SC. Born November 2, 1915, in Trans, GA, she was the daughter of the late W. Frank and Callie Clements Price. She was preceded in death by one brother, Clement Price. Mrs. Parris is survived by her son Billy F. Parris and daughter-in-law Rebecca (Becky) Parris of Boiling Springs, SC; four grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Living in LaFayette, GA, she was an active member of the First Baptist church there for many years and a nurse for 30 years at Kitchen's Clinic, working with Dr. S.B. Kitchens. She was also active in the LaFayette crochet club ,a charter member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority, and a hospice volunteer for 16 years. Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Lafayette at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 3, 2013 led by Dr. Todd Gaddis. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral at the church, starting at 12:30 PM. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in LaFayette. Pallbearers will be Shannon Parris, Blake Parris, Derrick Parris, Derrick Elder, Howell Scott, and Hank VanApeldoorn.
