Alda Gordon

Alda Gordon, 84, of Spartanburg, SC, died Friday, August 30, 2013, at her home. Born June 1, 1929, in Forsyth County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Hattie Norman. Alda was retired from Continental Insurance in Charlotte, NC, and a member of Sharon United Methodist Church in Lewisville, NC. Survivors include her brother, Henry S. Norman of Winston-Salem, NC; sister, Lora N. Landreth of Kernersville, NC, and Modelle N. Beauchamp of Lewisville, NC; daughter, Cina G. Fero of Spartanburg, SC; sons, Norman W. Gordon of Tennessee, and Wayne J. Gordon of Charlotte, NC; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Neal S. Gordon; two brothers, Charles and William Norman; and a sister, Dorothy Landreth. A memorial service will be conducted at 5:00 PM Saturday, September 7, 2013, at Sharon United Methodist Church in Lewisville, NC, by the Rev. Tom Alfred.
