Albert Green Jr.

Albert Lee Green Jr., 83, of Spartanburg, SC, died Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at his home. Born May 23, 1933, in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Albert Lee Green, Sr. and Louise Putman Green. A retired police officer, Lee was employed with the City of Spartanburg for 35 years and also served as a Safety Officer for USC-Upstate for over 20 years. He was a member of Beaumont United Methodist Church, the Spartanburg Police Club, Cannon's Ruritan Club, and a 50-year member of Mill Village (later Spartan) Masonic Lodge #360. Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann Whitlock Green; children, Amy Green Mullins of Spartanburg, SC, Randall Lee Green (Deborah) of Fairfax, VA, and Dennis Ray Green (Christina) of Springfield, VA; grandchildren, Lori Green Kay, Michael Lee Green (Laura), Kristen Green, Kevin Green (Marina); and great-granddaughter, Kameryn Kaye. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Geraldine Green Finch; and son-in-law, the Rev. Mark L. Mullins. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, January 19, 2017, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Friday, January 20, 2017, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, by the Rev. Darrell McNeil, the Rev. Tommy Hill, Chaplain Dean Cortese, and the Rev. Jane Jenkins. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, 1955 Cannons Campground Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. The family is at the home.
