Adolf Schweizer, 92, passed away November 23, 2021. Born in Weinfelden, Switzerland, he was the son of the late Adolf Sr. and Freida Schweizer. He was preceded in death by his brothers Walter, Fritz and Heinz.
Adolf studied at the Rieter Technical Institute in Winterthur, Switzerland, and worked for Rieter Corporation 40 plus years. He traveled the world installing textile machinery, training and teaching textile workers how to run and maintain the machinery. After many years working between Europe, Asia, and South America, his next assignment was to Eastern Canada. It was there he met the love of his life Susan and they married. They moved to the United States and ultimately settled in Spartanburg, SC. He continued his work for Rieter Corporation until his retirement. After his retirement from Rieter he did some traveling in Canada and Europe, and became an enthusiastic PR man for the Corporation that shaped his life. He also enjoyed gardening, caring for his beloved Papillons, and spending time with friends and family.
He was a man who was loyal to the Reiter Company, dedicated to his work, and loved his family. A man more of action than of words, he will be dearly missed by all.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Susan Dempsey Schweizer, his children, Ulric A Schweizer (Mayumi), and Christel Schweizer Garrison (Kevin), his two grandsons, Leo S. Garrison and Phillip A. Garrison, numerous nieces, grandnieces, nephews, grand-nephews, cousins, and friends, and his beloved threelegged cat, Kiddy Morris.
