A. Paul Main, 86, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, died Friday, January 7, 2011 at his residence. Born December 24, 1924 in Roanoke, VA, he was the son of the late Andrew Robert and Rose Hundley Main and husband of the late Jeri Moore Main. Mr. Main was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Greensboro, NC, and a graduate of Virginia Tech. He retired from Cone Mills as a Plant Engineer. Survivors include a daughter, Paula M. Lathan and husband Steve of Spartanburg; a son, Robert Bryan Main and wife Ruth of Lake Wylie, SC; a sister, Martha Davis of Atlanta, GA; a grandson Paul Lathan and wife Ivonne of Spartanburg; two granddaughters, Stephanie Mesaros and husband David of Savannah, GA, and Caroline Lisbeth Main of Greensboro, NC; and two great-grandsons, Stephen Matthew and Andrew Kyle Lathan. A small family service will be held in Greensboro, NC at a later date. Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of South Carolina, 110 Dillon Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
