Peggy West

Peggy Threadgill West, 84, of Spartanburg, SC died Thursday, December 24, 2020 at The Inverness of Spartanburg, surrounded by her loved ones. Born October 15, 1936 in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Eric and Eunice Threadgill. Mrs. West was a 1954 graduate of Roebuck High School, Limestone College where she received a BS in Education, and her Master's Degree from USC Upstate. She taught second grade at Roebuck Primary and Roebuck Elementary school. Mrs. West was a dedicated teacher, retired in 1999 after 27 years. She was an active member of First Baptist Spartanburg and donated time and service with the Alzheimer's Association. She was the most loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was always kind and loving to everyone she met. Mrs. West walked with God her entire life, loved reading the Bible and attending her church. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. Survivors include her husband, the love of her life of 67 years, Stanley O'Neal West married Christmas Day 1953; daughter, Libba Thomas (Jamie) and grandchildren, Storey Renn Thomas and Connor O'Neal Thomas; brother, Eric Threadgill (Raquel), and sister, Kay Williams (Randy). She was predeceased by a daughter, Susan Y. West in 2004. Visitation will be held 10:00-11:00 AM Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307, with funeral services following in the Chapel at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 901 South Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
