Paul Cousins Iii

January 16, 1976 — September 10, 2022

Paul Hamilton Cousins III, 46, of Spartanburg, SC died Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born January 16, 1976 in Fort Jackson, Richland County, NC, he was the son of Joanne Elizabeth Furtick and Paul Hamilton Cousins, Jr. of Mooresville, NC.

Paul was a beloved son, brother, husband, stepfather, and friend. He was kind and caring, yet mischievous, with a sly sense of humor and always made others laugh. When someone asked how he was doing, he always said “I’m having the greatest day of my life.” He was passionate about painting, drawing, music, writing poetry, the Arsenal Football Club, and the Clemson Tigers. He loved his plants dearly and blew kisses to birds and butterflies. Above all, he was a free spirit. He will be greatly missed.

Along with his parents, he was survived by his wife, Catherine Fair McCallister Cousins of the home; his stepson, Drake Burgess of Lincolnton, NC; his sisters, April Cousins Bauer of Israel and Rebecca Cousins Smith of Prosperity, SC.

A Memorial service will be 1:00 pm Saturday, September 17, 2022 at New Hope Lutheran Church, 296 Faith Road, Mooresville, NC 28115.
