Kathy Murphy

Kathy Bullman Murphy, 63, of Duncan, SC, died Thursday, August 30, 2018, at St. Francis Hospital. Born February 17, 1955, in Spartanburg County, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Johnnie G. Bullman and Doris Downey Bullman and widow of James "Jim" Monroe Murphy. A graduate of Converse College and Clemson University, Mrs. Murphy was a former Deputy Director of the South Carolina Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counsel and was retired from private practice as a counselor. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her son, Daryl Jackson (Cheri) of Boiling Springs, SC; sister, Libby Thornton (Rev. Chuck Thornton) of Spartanburg, SC; brothers, John Bullman and partner Robin of Lyman, SC, Ronnie Bullman (Susan) of Buffalo, SC and Oliver Downey (Beth) of Greenwood, SC; grandson, Blake Jackson of Boiling Springs, SC; three bonus grandchildren, Branson Solesbee, Bryon Hembree and Morgan Solesbee and special friend, Chuck Treet. Visitation will be 1:30-2:30 PM Sunday, September 2, 2018, in First Presbyterian Church Parlor, 393 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29302, with services following at 3:00 PM in the church sanctuary conducted by The Rev. Craig Foster, The Rev. Chuck Thorton and family members. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Heritage Chapel Mausoleum, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
