Gene Riddle

Gene Riddle, 74, of Cowpens, SC, died Monday, May 7, 2018, at Mary Black Memorial Hospital-Spartanburg. Born June 29, 1943, in Cherokee County, SC, he was the son of the late Paul William Riddle and Mary Grace Lee Huntsinger Riddle and husband of 45 years to the late Opal Diane Lane Riddle. Mr. Riddle retired from Beaumont Mills and loved to rebuild automobile alternators and starters. He also enjoyed serving as a volunteer for food banks and was a member of Thompson Chapel Baptist Church. Survivors include his children, Donnie Eugene Riddle and Joanne Riddle Hall and her husband Ray, all of Cowpens, SC; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Thad Riddle and Bud Riddle, both of Spartanburg, SC; and sister, Christine Mathis of Cowpens, SC. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, May 10, 2018, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. A graveside service will be conducted at 4:00 PM Friday, May 11, 2018, in Cowpens Cemetery, Cemetery St., Cowpens, SC 29330, by The Rev. Michael Stubblefield.
