Debra “Debbie” Scarbro Hawkins, 66, of Moore, SC, died Sunday, January 8, 2023 at Atrium Health in Charlotte, NC. She was born December 9, 1956 in Panama City, FL.
Debbie was retired after serving 40 plus years with RedSail Technologies, formerly QS/1 Data System. She was a member of Beaumont Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher for 47 years. She was active in the Music program, assistant and present church clerk and also an Auxiliary member of The Gideons International, Spartanburg East Camp.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Jack Henson Hawkins; daughter, Morgan Kay Hawkins; and fur baby, Gracie Chloe all of the home. Additional survivors include her parents, James L. and Ruth P. Scarbro of Spartanburg, SC; her brother, Randy Scarbro (Amy) of Easley, SC; sisters-in-law, Joy McGaha (Chuck) of Duncan, SC and Sherry Alverson (Jim), of Boiling Springs, SC; nephews, Jay Alverson (Brandi) of Charlotte, NC, Ryan McGaha (Mamie) of Ducnan, SC, Aaron Scarbro (Hannah) of Spartanburg, SC, and Austin Scarboro (Melinda) of Kentucky; great nieces and nephews, Brianna Alverson, Natalie Alverson, Walker McGaha, Eliza McGaha, Arwen Scarbro, Collins McGaha, and Beorn Scarbro.
Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Beaumont Baptist Church, 945 Beaumont Avenue, Spartanburg, SC 29303. Funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, January 12, 2023 at the church, conducted by The Rev. John T. Lee and The Rev. John Cox.
A Private burial will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Beaumont Baptist Church, 945 Beaumont Ave, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
