Christopher Taylor Garrett, 37, died Friday, May 12, 2017, at his home in Spartanburg, SC. He was born on March 5, 1980, in Goldsboro, NC, the son of Charles and Sandra Garrett. Chris graduated from Spartanburg High School in 1998. He attended Spartanburg Tech and Greenville Tech majoring in graphic arts. Then he went on to attend the Art Institute of Charleston to become a chef. He was currently employed at Stella's Southern Brasserie in Greenville. Chris is survived by his parents: father, Charles W. Garrett and step-mother, Robin Garrett and mother, Sandra D. Garrett of Spartanburg, SC. He leaves a daughter, Rachel Taylor Garrett of Charlottesville, VA; and a son, Parker Davis Garrett of Spartanburg, SC. Chris was gifted with many talents. His ability to draw, to cook, to make people laugh, and to flash those beautiful dimples. He loved music, the planet earth and just about anyone he met. His heart was bigger than most. A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 3:30 PM Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at Hatcher Gardens - John Nevison Amphitheater, 832 John B. White Sr. Blvd, Spartanburg, SC 29306, by the Rev. Sue Perrin. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hatcher Gardens, PO Box 2337, Spartanburg, SC 29304.
