Bryson Ward

Bryson Seth Ward, 14, of Jonesville, SC, died Saturday, September 24, 2016, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born May 13, 2002, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of Robert James Ward and Cathy Lynn May Ward of the home. Bryson was a Ninth Grade student at Broome High School where he was a member of the Beta Club, Cross Country, Wrestling and Tennis Teams, as well as the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He loved to play airsoft games, was an avid history buff, and enjoyed old westerns including Daniel Boone and Clint Eastwood movies. As a member of Eastside Baptist Church he was involved with the Children's Ministry and was the Ministry Media Assistant. In addition to his parents, survivors include his sister, Kayla Rose Ward of the home; paternal grandmother, Betty Rochester Ward of Jonesville, SC; maternal grandmother, Mary Ruth Murphy May of Jonesville, SC; and his Beagle buddy, Chavez. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Robert William Ward; and maternal grandfather, Marion Francis May. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 PM Friday, September 30, 2016, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, October 1, 2016, at District Three Community Auditorium at Broome High School, by the Rev. Mike Royal and the Rev. Brian Collins. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fellowship of Christian Athletes at Broome High School, 381 Cherry Hill Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307; or Eastside Baptist Church Student Ministry, 1850 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
