Ann Eugenia Sanders Campbell, 91, of Spartanburg, SC, died Sunday, January 29, 2023 at RoseCrest Retirement Community. Born June 24, 1931, in Gaffney, SC, she was the daughter of the late Dr. James Henry and Claudia Thomas Sanders, and the wife to the late Ruffner Campbell for 57 years.
Ms. Ann, as everyone called her, earned her Master’s degree from Appalachian State University. Ms. Ann taught Kindergarten at St. James United Methodist Church. A lifelong member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, where she was very active and sang in the choir. A sweet and kind lady, who was very compassionate.
Survivors include her son, David Campbell of Spartanburg, SC; granddaughter, Kathryn Ann Clark of Wellford, SC; grandson, Daniel Ruffner Clark of Spartanburg, SC; two great grands; and her brother, Dr. James Sanders (Gloria) of Brevard, NC; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Susan Campbell Clark.
A Celebration of Life service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 880 W.O. Ezell Blvd., Spartanburg, SC 29301, conducted by The Rev. Robert Brozina. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall.
